Prince Harry's American dream will never go as far as the Duke becoming a citizen, a royal author has claimed.

Harry's visa application to initially enter the United States is currently under scrutiny, with a court case deciding whether or not to make his details public knowledge currently on-going. However, an expert is adamant that Harry will never go any further than simply wanting residency.

Despite hinting citizenship had crossed his mind in an exclusive chat with Good Morning America, he insisted it wasn't his "top priority" at present, and Christopher Anderson - the author of The King - has explained why he feels Harry will never follow through with the potential plan.

Speaking to Fox News Digital, the author claimed Harry would have too much to lose if he made the bold call to become an American citizen. He said: "There is really no earthly reason why, after being accused of turning his back on his family and his country, Harry would want to twist the knife by seeking U.S. citizenship.

"Forget about whether the U.S. would ultimately demand that Harry renounce his titles. It’s much more likely that King Charles would face pressure to strip Harry of his royal titles if he chose to become a U.S. citizen. And it’s difficult to see the upside of Harry becoming a U.S. citizen."

Anderson continued to question what would be in it for Harry to "further alienate" himself from his family. While it was clear Harry enjoys living in America, Anderson says it's not the same as the prince being in love with the nation. "It was clear that Harry was blindsided when he was asked that question," Anderson added.

When GMA presenter Will Reeve asked the Duke what he thought of life in America. Harry gushed it was "amazing". However, he stopped short of actually saying he felt American. Instead he confessed: "I don't know how to feel."

Harry's visa application has caused huge controversy following his claims in his memoir, Spare, about drug use. Harry sparked controversy when he admitted to taking cocaine, marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms in the book and now Washington DC think tank The Heritage Foundation have questioned why he was allowed entry into America in 2020. A lawsuit was brought against the Department for Homeland Security (DHS) after a Freedom of Information Act request was rejected.

It's said a judge will give his verdict on the case "very soon".
