Jurgen Klopp has insisted he will have no problem leaving Liverpool in the summer.

Klopp led the Reds to winning the Carabao Cup on Sunday, beating Chelsea in the final at Wembley. His side had to dig deep to lift the trophy, with a number of injuries forcing the German to throw on several academy stars.

In the wake of the cup win, hope was sparked among some Liverpool supporters that he may yet remain with the team. But Klopp has now dismissed those claims, insisting his heart is set on departing.

While his exit will leave a massive hole at the heart of the club, Klopp has insisted that the cup win shows the team will be fine. The German is adamant that the Reds have a good enough squad to consolidate their place at the top of the English game without him.

“We have a really good football team. The future for this football club is bright. Over the years we did it properly. They will be fine, 100 percent. Otherwise, I wouldn’t leave," he told Sky Sports.

“In the end, everything will be fine. If it wasn’t going to be okay, I wouldn’t be leaving. Liverpool FC is a special club, always was. Not everybody in the outside world has to see it like that, I’m inside and I can tell you, when I come from outside, it is a really special club.

“Even when our fans would love to spend more money here and there, I’m pretty sure deep down they are really happy we do it slightly different. Not different to all other clubs, but the size of our club, that we are still so happy when a kid is coming through, I think that is pretty special.”

Sunday's triumph was Klopp's seventh major honour since arriving at Liverpool back in 2015. But the German has downplayed talk of having built a "legacy" at Anfield, instead focusing on enjoying his latest trophy.

"I couldn't care less about my legacy. I'm not here to create one. As a manager of a football club, you are there to do the job actually. Nothing what we did in the last eight-and-a-half years would have happened," Klopp added.

"It's not replaceable, you couldn't have done the same in another club or whatever. It was exactly made for this combination and it's fantastic. But we learn so much in that time, I learned so much, the people learned so much.

"It's not a problem if the manager leaves or whatever, if these people would leave – our supporters – that would be a problem. But as long as they are the way they are, Liverpool Football Club will be fine and that's the most important thing.

"But for these kind of things from time to time you need something to really celebrate. Come on, this was so special. You saw the game, you saw the circumstances. I have no idea who can play on Wednesday but for tonight it is a night I will never forget."
