The gravestone of Sinead O’Connor has been revealed seven months after the iconic singer passed away suddenly at the age of 56.
The Irish musician died at her London home in July last year with a coroner later revealing her cause of death had been natural causes. Thousands of mourners attended her funeral in the small coastal town of Bray in north County Wicklow in Ireland last August. Fans lined the streets and threw flowers at the passing hearse as the singer’s life was celebrated and she was put to rest in a single plot at Deansgrange Cemetery on Dublin’s southside.
Now the gravestone placed at the singer’s final resting place has been unveiled for the first time, showing a simple grey stone with the singer’s name, date of birth, and the date she died inscribed on the surface. The words “God is love” is also inscribed beneath the dates, while a further inscription written in Arabic reads: “Allah is the greatest," in pictures shared with fans Sinead converted to Islam in 2018.
Sinead’s death was announced by her family on 26 July last year. A statement read: "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinéad. Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time."

Authorities were quick to state they were not treating the death as suspicious.

Last month, a coroner report revealed that the star had died of natural causes. Southwark Coroners Court said in early January: "This is to confirm that Ms O'Connor died of natural causes. The coroner has therefore ceased their involvement in her death. If an inquest is to be opened, the date of the brief public hearing will be provided on our website."
At the time of her death, a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "Police were called at 11:18hrs on Wednesday, 26 July to reports of an unresponsive woman at a residential address in the SE24 area. Officers attended. A 56-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin have been notified. The death is not being treated as suspicious. A file will be prepared for the Coroner."

His death had a profound impact on the singer - who had shared thoughts of him via social media days before her own death.
In a tortured post shared via X, the star wrote: "Been living as undead night creature since. He was the love of my life, the lamp of my soul. We were one soul in two halves. He was the only person who ever loved me unconditionally. I am lost in the bardo without him."
Fellow celebrities that attended Sinead's funeral included Sir Bob Geldof, 72, and U2 star Bono. While her death also provoked an outpouring of love from stars around the world - with Tori Amos, Massive Attack, Public Enemy and Toni Collette among those who posted tributes online.
