They may have left Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway fans reeling following their bombshell announcement, but it seems the lads are determined to go out with a bang.

The popular entertainment show is back for its final outing on Saturday after Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly confirmed the ITV programme would be taken off our screen following the 20th series. The duo know they've got to say goodbye in style - so what better way to kick things off than by getting under Simon Cowell's skin?

A newly released teaser clip shows the calculating pair pulling a big prank on the music mogul - and you instantly get the feeling he's going to be furious. We see Simon on his bike riding through Malibu but before long he's not alone. A police officer gives chase and Ant and Dec can be heard gasping as he is pulled over.

Dec says: "We are ending the Undercovers where we started… with Simon Cowell! Our first ever Undercover was on Simon in LA when he was a judge on American Idol. So we've gone back and got Simon Cowell again. We went out to LA and gave him the day from hell whilst he was judging on America's Got Talent.

Ant says the second hit is even better than the first and it's not to be missed when the pair return this weekend. The I'm A Celebrity co-host said: "It was even sweeter getting him the second time round because we also got him during his downtime as he’s riding his bike around Malibu - it’s very, very funny."

We don't see how it all unfolds, but will revenge be on the cards? Later on in the series, the tables will turn on Ant and Dec with a very special edition of Get Out Of Me Ear: The Revenge where celebrities who have been hidden camera victims of the Geordie duo as the pesky pair finally get served some comeuppance. It should be a fantastic farewell.

Late last year, Ant and Dec announced their plans to "rest" the Bafta-winning show before promising fans their plans to work on new TV formats. Taking to Instagram, the smartly-dress paired announced they would be taking a break from the beloved TV show. Ant revealed: "We've got some news for you. Next year, in 2024, it will be our 20th series of Saturday Night Takeaway. And we've got some very special look-backs planned as well as some very exciting new items."

Dec continued: "And we've also decided that our 20th series will be our last one for a little while. The show takes up so much of a year we just feel like we need a little bit of a breather and the show is going to take a little bit of a rest. But before that we've got the 20th series to plan," Ant remarked as Dec interjected: "And we're looking forward to it."
