Meghan Markle's fans rushed to her defence after she came under fire for her fashion choices during her recent trip to Canada.

The Duchess Of Sussex travelled to Canada alongside Prince Harry last week to work on promoting the Invictus Games which will be held in Vancouver and Whistler, British Columbia in 2025. She reportedly wore £8,000 worth of clothes in the first 12 hours of their visit to the country sparking some outrage online from her critics.

Meghan, 42, was seen wearing a £250 Bleusalt camel jumper underneath a £1295 Sentaler coat during a visit to the Hillcrest Community Centre along with thousands of pounds worth of jewellery. The pricey outfit prompted some social media users to question where she was getting the garments from when they spotted the luxury brands being worn by her.

One wrote on Instagram: "Who paid for this luxury?" However, Bleusalt were quick to respond and defend the former Suits star, with a rep for the brand defiantly replying: "Meghan actually buys it. She doesn't have a stylist just FYI [for your information]."

More fans of the Duchess then took to X to defend her and her expensive outfits against her critics. One posted: "Don't forget the most important part - she pays for it herself." A second said: "You know she's a woman with great taste if she can curate her own clothes without anyone's help. What else can you expect from The Tig creator?"

A third offered: "Oh nice. It's also been reported that she doesn't travel with a hairdresser to the Invictus Games and does her own hair." Another social media user noted: "She doesn't need a stylist. She looks fantastic."

Meghan and Harry quit their royal duties in 2020 becoming financially independent. The pair receive no taxpayer money as they are no longer working royals. They now provide for themselves and their two children, Prince Archie, four, and Princess Lilibet, two, via different sources of income.

Meanwhile, Suits creator Aaron Korsh does not plan to include Markle’s character in the new spin-off set in Los Angeles, despite reports suggesting an acting comeback is on the cards. The showrunner reportedly wants his new version to succeed on its own without bringing in the former stars of the first run, which has broken Netflix streaming records.

Korsh’s close friend and ex Suits actress Rachael Harris broke the news at the 11th Make-up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild (MUAHS) Awards in Beverly Hills on camera. Speaking exclusively Harris, who appeared in Suits as Sheila Sazs, Louis Litt's on-and-off again love interest for several seasons, revealed: "Well, this is the thing -the only thing I know the truth is, is that Aaron Korsh who created the original Suits I know personally: and of course when I got wind that they were doing a Suits LA I was like, okay, so when am I working? And he was very clear with me that no one from the previous cast is going to be in Suits LA."

She continued that the door remains slightly ajar for Markle, although no firm full-time role is on the table. She explained: "He didn't say that there couldn't be a crossover or there couldn't be a cameo appearance from one of us at some point. But he said this is its own entity."
