Prince Harry has been given a strong warning that 'actions speak louder than words' when it comes to reconciling with the Royal Family.

The Duke of Sussex has voiced that he hopes to smooth things out with his relatives, especially in light of his father's recent cancer diagnosis, and harbours hope for a reconciliation in the future. In an interview with Good Morning America whilst in Canada for the Invictus Games countdown, Harry revealed hints for a possible reconciliation with his family in future as he explained: "I think any illness, any sickness brings families together."

However his keen plans to make peace might not be well received, as a royal commentator has urged him to 'show you mean it' and make sure his actions align with his words.

The Mail on Sunday journalist Sarah Vine wrote: "So Harry is right. Such crises can, and do, have 'reunifying effects' on families. But words are one thing, actions quite another." She then questioned whether the Duke understood the true meaning of reconciliation and claimed his recent actions made it appear as though he doesn't understand what it might take to make peace with his family.

In another answer for his bombshell interview, the Duke spoke about his recent 24-hour return trip from California to the UK to see his father after the news of the monarch's cancer emerged, as he said: "I love my family. The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see him and spend any time with him, I’m grateful for that."

Despite the rushed visit home, in which the Prince spent a reported 30 minutes with his father, Vine has added that his actions need to speak louder and make it clear he means to heal the past. Continuing, she added: "Words aren't enough – you must show you mean it. You also must understand that sometimes it's not about you but about the greater good of the family."

In recent news, Harry is said to have made it clear that he is open to helping carry the load by taking on certain royal duties whilst his father the King steps back from royal affairs to rest and recover. However, any such effort to come back in a temporary capacity is said to have been stamped out by their older brother Prince William

The comments come after a palace source also told The Mirror there is 'no chance' of Prince Harry returning as his brother would not allow it because he believes his brother and Meghan 'cannot be trusted'. The source claimed: "It is absolutely and categorically clear that he (William) would not allow Harry to return. There is a zero per cent chance Harry is coming back in any capacity."
