Energy bills are going up - but the temperature is going down as winter really starts to bite.

A sharp widespread frost, with lows of -4C to -8C, are expected overnight into Tuesday, with snow already affecting some parts of the country.

Weather experts say further frost and ice risks are expected over the next couple of nights, with daytime temperatures staying low.

So the big question is: have you turned your heating on yet - or are you holding out for a little while longer?

The traditional British stiff upper lip can make some of us feel almost ashamed to admit we've 'caved in' to warming our homes - with it being a sort of badge of honour to say 'not yet'.

But whatever your take on it, all this cost-saving isn't much fun for any of us, and just how long will we have to live like this?

Energy bills are showing little sign of coming down any time soon - but there is some hope, with wholesale gas prices starting to fall now European countries have set out their plans to avert a winter energy crisis.

But such wholesale costs are still around a whopping 12 times higher than they were at the start of 2021.

So whether you're reaching for the blankets or the thermostat, we're interested to hear how you're coping in these unprecedented times.
