Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City's next five league games as champions slip up
The Premier League title race took another twist on Saturday as Liverpool and Arsenal took advantage of a Manchester City slip up.
The champions had to watch as their two rivals went first with the Reds securing a dominant victory over Brentford at lunchtime. Arsenal then followed as they produced a five-star win at Burnley to keep up their free-scoring form. City though were then held, somewhat surprisingly, by Chelsea.
Pep Guardiola's side had been on an impressive winning run and were eyeing top spot had they won their games in hand. Their stalemate though means they've handed the initiative to Liverpool, who now sit top. They are now two points ahead of the Gunners and four ahead of City, although they have a game in hand.
The champions face a potentially defining next few weeks, however, which includes a trip to Anfield, which hasn't always gone kindly for them. City and Liverpool played out a 1-1 draw when they met at the Etihad earlier this season.
Before that there is also the small matter of the Manchester derby against a seemingly improving Manchester United side whilst a trip to the Amex to take on Brighton is another daunting prospect. Liverpool meanwhile face relegation scrappers Luton Town, Nottingham Forest and Everton in the coming weeks.

Arsenal fell away last term and are hoping to show they are made of sterner stuff this season. They have home games to come against the likes of Newcastle United, Brentford and Chelsea before a trip to take on City, where they were humbled last term.
Guardiola's side are seeking to win the league for a fourth successive year - a feat that has never before been achieved. They've remained in touch for much of the season and are renowned for building and peaking late in the year, but will need to ensure they stay close to top spot if they want to retain their crown.
