Meghan Markle and Prince Harry took a well-earned break from their Invictus Games work as they headed for dinner at upscale Italian restaurant Il Caminetto.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex flew to Canada earlier this week as part of the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025's One Year to Go celebrations. They were seen hitting the slopes on Wednesday before heading to the luxury restaurant for a Valentine's Day treat.

Meghan was all smiles as she was spotted leaving the restaurant while walking arm-in-arm with her husband. The couple then drove off in their luxury Ford Expedition SUV.

Meghan looked incredible during the outing, wearing a stylish red coat and black wide leg pants. She carried her belongings in a red clutch bag, while Harry opted for a navy sweater and denim jeans.

In pictures obtained by the Daily Mail, Harry seemed to be keeping tight hold of a black gift box. A source told the the publication the couple enjoyed a very intimate meal together.

"They sat in a secluded corner of the main restaurant and were like any other couple on Valentine's Day. They were both smiling the whole time and kept touching each other's arms. It was great to see them looking so in love," they said.

Meghan will have been delighted with the choices on offer at Il Caminetto, as the restaurant stocks her favourite wine. For $369 (£217) a bottle, diners can enjoy a splash of tignanello wine, which Meghan named her now-defunct blog The Tig after.

Meghan and Harry would have also been able to reminisce about their engagement at the restaurant. When the couple announced their engagement in 2017, it was revealed the Duke of Sussex got down on one knee while Meghan was roasting a chicken at home.

Il Caminetto offers a fraser valley chicken 'saltimbocca' for $45.50 (£26). The meal includes prosciutto & sage wrapped chicken breast brussels sprouts, farro verde and white turnip roasted chicken wing jus.

Il Caminetto is one of the most expensive restaurants in Whistler. Their specialities include a prosciutto appetizer for $28.50 (£16.80), a 10oz New York beef striploin for $74.50 (£44), or a lobster and saffron linguine for $49.50 (£29.15).

Harry and Meghan's fancy dinner comes after the couple faced backlash for their website rebrand. The couple launched Sussex.com earlier this week, with the website following on from the launch of their SussexRoyal.com website in 2020.

Some critics have suggested Meghan and Harry's new move has risked provoking "complaints from the Palace." One source told the Daily Mail: "They are going to have real trouble with the use of Sussex. It is a royal title and if there is any hint of commercialism about this it will be shut down. It's just staggering they cannot see how gauche it is."
