EastEnders viewers can expect "emotional" and "tough" scenes for the Knights on the BBC soap, as the truth unravels.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, one star of the show has revealed what's ahead for the family following some huge twists and turns. George Knight finds his world turned upside down as the truth about his childhood and his father Eddie's actions come to light in a huge week of episodes.

Spoilers had revealed that George would find out his father was using and manipulating him, amid a murder trial in court. Scenes that aired across Monday and Tuesday this week saw George find out about a horrific murder from decades earlier, that his father was now being accused of.

After initially believing his dad did love him after all, having had doubts for his entire life, he was soon left reeling as he realised Eddie's true motive for trying to get him onside. Eddie's racist comments and harsh behaviour towards George and his children over the years unsettled the family, and viewers, but suddenly on Monday night fans saw Eddie heaping praise on his son.

The sad truth came out on Tuesday though, as George found newspaper articles about the murder of a man named Henry Kofi Asare. The reports confirmed the mystery victim, originally from Ghana, was murdered in 1984 with his remains found in a suitcase in a canal.

According to the reports a man had been arrested and charged for the crime and was awaiting trial, with George knowing this to be Eddie. When he confronted his father about the crime, his adoptive mother Gloria explained that Eddie's defence team told them to get George onside as a witness, as it would "strengthen his case" because the murder victim was a black man.

Realising Eddie did not care for him and was only using him to help his case at trial, George refused to speak to his adoptive parents and headed home, only to make a further discovery. George asked to speak to his father once more in the closing moments of Tuesday's episode, after finding a picture of Henry prior to his disappearance and death.

Now, speaking to The Mirror at the TV Choice Awards 2024, Molly Rainford, who plays George's daughter Anna Knight on the BBC soap, has revealed the sad scenes ahead for the family. Sharing her pride over what they had filmed, she hoped it would resonate with viewers as George finally learns the truth about his parents and his childhood.

Molly told us: "It's been tough, it's a big story and it's very special for all of us as the Knight family to tell these stories. These are conversations we have to have in our real-life families, so it's been really cool to navigate it with such amazing actors and people who wanna tell the story in the right way."

She added: "It's been a lot, it's been emotional but in the best way. I hope that people really can connect with it. I think it will show this big tough boxer guy being vulnerable and hopefully will reflect on the audience."

On what's ahead, she added: "I can't tell you too much but it is really emotional and stuff we're super proud of, so we're really excited."
