It hasn't been a secret in recent years that Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton haven't been very close.
The wives of Prince Harry and Prince William respectively have seemingly had a strained relationship. In Omid Scobie's most recent book, Endgame, he said Kate was "cold" towards Meghan when she first joined the royal family.
Things didn't get better as Meghan and Harry left royal duties in 2020. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex went on a campaign against the royals and slamming them for how they treated Meghan.

According to New Magazine, the two are "very different women."

"I don't think it was ever an easy relationship," said royal expert Tessa Dunlop, "I don't think Kate and Meghan ever had a close relationship."
Tessa believes that the different personalities of the Brit and the American are what will keep the two apart. She continued: "They're very different women. Everything about Kate is about being discreet and understated. She's shy. It's the polar opposite of what Meghan is."
"Meghan is a performer. Kate is a very different creature and when someone breaches your confidence, it can feel massive," Tessa explained.
Harry was close with Kate (Getty Images)Recently another explanation for the fallout between the two is that Meghan is "incredibly envious" of the relationship between Harry and his sister-in-law. Before Meghan entered his life in 2016, Harry and Kate were close for many years as Harry accompanied her and William to events.
Then Meghan joined the crew and the trio became the Fab Four, who were close until the falling out in 2020. But that initial relationship between Harry and Kate could still have lingering effects.
Royal author Ingrid Stewart and editor of Majesty magazine pointed out that Harry had "longed" for a sister, which could contribute to his previously close relationship with Kate. "I think that Meghan must have been incredibly envious and then jealous of Kate," she said.
"I heard Meghan actually thought she was going to be a princess and live in Windsor Castle," Ingrid continued, "Instead, there’s William and Kate with this beautiful house, while they are stuck in Nottingham Cottage which Harry used to call 'my hovel.'"
