Prince Harry’s impromptu London trip to visit King Charles following his shock cancer diagnosis has ruffled some royal feathers and seen feelings of distrust resurface.
According to royal experts, Prince Harry’s unexpected trip to visit his father will have reignited the “lack of trust” Princess Kate feels towards the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Although the Princess of Wales once enjoyed a close relationship with her brother-in-law, today, the relations between the pair are at an all-time low.
Kate, who is currently recovering from abdominal surgery at her and William’s home in Windsor, is thought to still be wary of The Sussexes. Last year, several bombshell revelations came to light about Kate and the rest of the Royal Family - with Harry making numerous shocking allegations in his memoir Spare. The Prince’s impromptu trip will have only served to bring up those feelings of betrayal, according to experts.

Speaking to New, Royal Author Tessa Dunlop said: “The lack of trust is predictable given the indiscretions coming from the Sussex camp including the suggestions of racism.” In Spare, Harry not only described how Meghan was not given a warm welcome into the family - but also described several occasions where Kate had been less than friendly towards Meghan.

In the infamous memoir, Harry wrote about one instance where his sister-in-law had been reluctant to lend Meghan her lipgloss and another occasion where the royal women came to heads over a bridesmaid dress ahead of the Sussex’s 2018 wedding - an altercation which allegedly left Meghan in tears. When Meghan recalled the incident again in her interview with Oprah Winfrey, which was watched by over 17 million people, Kate is said to have felt publicly humiliated.

Although, unsurprisingly, William made no effort to meet up with Harry during his 25-hour trip - it remains an obvious symbol of how frosty relations between the once inseparable brothers have become.
