McDonald's issues major update on breakfast wrap after pulling it from sale

McDonald's fans were left devastated after the long-awaited breakfast wrap was pulled from the menu just days after it returned.

When the fast food chain announced its new menu, which launched in restaurants on February 7, there were many reasons to be excited. Not only would the breakfast wrap be making a comeback, but Maccies has also released the brand new McSpicy x Frank's RedHot as well as two mouthwatering pink desserts.

Fans were extra excited to try the new and improved breakfast wrap, which McDonald's promised would be an an "experience like never before", with a delicious pork sausage patty, two round free-range eggs, a slice of bacon, a crispy potato rosti and cheese served in a tortilla wrap with either tomato ketchup or brown sauce.

Fans were 'begging' for the item to return

So it came as a devastating blow when the wrap was removed from the menu on February 9, after just three days. At the time, a spokesperson said: "Due to an unprecedented demand, McDonald's has had to temporarily remove the breakfast wrap from the menu, to avoid running out of all wider breakfast items."

But now the fast food chain has issued another major update which will no doubt put a smile on Maccies fans' faces - the breakfast wrap will return from tomorrow, February 13. That's right, if you fancy an iconic Valentine's Day brekkie, you're in for a treat.

McDonald's confirmed that the breakfast wrap was on a "temporary hiatus over the weekend due to unprecedented demand", but luckily "it will be officially back in restaurants on Tuesday February 13".

McDonald's chose to bring back the wrap after claiming fans had begged them to, including 22 petitions, as well as over 5,000 direct messages sent to their social media accounts.

After finally revealing they had listened to the fans, people took to social media to share their joy. One person wrote: "Finally McDonald's you listened to us!!! Amen for the breakfast wrap being back," while another wrote: "McDonald's breakfast wrap used to be my go to for years until it was discontinued. Today is the first day I'm having it again and the wait was worth it."

Other items which returned to the menu on February 7 includes the Big Tasty, the Big Tasty with Bacon, Mozzarella Dippers with Salsa Dip, the McSpicy x Frank's Red Hot, the KitKat Ruby Chocolate McFlurry, the KitKat Milk Chocolate McFlurry and the Raspberry and White Chocolate Pie.

The McDonald's breakfast wrap has officially returned today (February 13) and costs £4.39, or £5.89 as a meal.
