Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s unusual Valentine's Day plans explained
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s unusual Valentine's Day plans have been revealed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be celebrating in Vancouver, Canada, as they gear up for the launch of the One Year To Go event for the 2025 Invictus Games. Harry and Meghan will also be at the Winter Training Camp in Whistler, British Columbia, on Wednesday as they meet with participating nations from around the world.
The One Year To Go event was launched this year in an effort to encourage military veterans to try their hand at winter sports, as the 2025 Invictus Games will feature winter sports events when it takes place in Canada from February 8 to 16 next year. Meghan and Harry will spend Valentine’s Day surrounded by picturesque snowy scenes as they meet and greet participants in a series of public appearances to build up anticipation for the games.

The couple will be in Vancouver on Valentine's DayThe 2023 Invictus Games were held in Germany, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex left their children - Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet - at home in Montecito, California. However, Meghan hinted last year that they would be bringing their kids to the games in Canada next year, as they will be old enough to appreciate the huge sporting event.

The Invictus Games has been held in Canada before - back in 2017, Toronto hosted Harry’s sporting spectacle for veterans, and it was also at the games the prince and Meghan made their debut as a couple, following a secret romance that began in 2016. Next year, Vancouver and Whistler will be joint hosts of the Invictus Games, and Harry announced it would be an event that would bring communities together.
Harry and Meghan will be launching the One Year To Go event in Canada this week"The Invictus Games Vancouver-Whistler 2025 will offer a global platform to expand the range and profile of winter adaptive sports. With deep respect, I'm also pleased to share that the Games in Canada will be held in partnership with the First Nations, in the spirit of truth and reconciliation with indigenous communities," he said in a statement.
Harry and Meghan will have an action-packed schedule, so it’s not confirmed what they will be doing on Valentine’s Day, but the former Suits star once gave details of her perfect Valentine’s Day in a post on her defunct blog, The Tig. Back in 2015, a year before she started dating Prince Harry, Meghan revealed her dream romantic day would be in Paris.
"Without fail, every February 14th, I wake up feeling like I’m immersed in a Robert Doisneau photo, waiting with bated breath to be dipped into a kiss," she wrote, according to Hello! magazine. "This is all happening in black and white, of course. And in Paris, if I had my way. In terms of gifts, be it breakfast in bed, a sweet love note, or a single flower… it really is the thought that counts."
