Emergency services have rushed to an industrial estate following a suspected chemical leak in Clitheroe, Lancashire.
Authorities attended the scene and cordoned off several units at the site including Farmhouse Fare, AJA Smith Transport, The Complete Food Group/Deli-Solutions, and DH Superbikes. It is believed some people might have been taken to hospital this morning.
Footage from the scene show a police van and fire engines positioned on Lincoln Way. The authorities have urged people to avoid the area at this time. It has been reported that there is a large emergency presence. According to local media, the leak is said to have originated from Farmhouse Fair.
Lancashire Fire Brigade confirmed hazardous materials units also responded to the incident. It is believed staff working at the industrial site have been told it is safe to work. Firefighters have since left the scene. A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire Brigade told The Mirror: "We were called at 9am to an incident on Lincoln Way, Clitheroe. Three fire engines and the hazardous materials units were in attendance along with NWAS and Lancashire Police, crews worked to make the building safe. Crews were in attendance for approximately two and half hours. "
