Prince Harry seemed delighted as he presented an award at the 2024 NFL Honours ceremony just one day after paying a quick visit to his cancer-stricken father King Charles.

Fans were shocked to see the Duke of Sussex make a special guest appearance at the ceremony, where he took the stage to present the Walter Payton Man of the Year award to Cameron Heyward. In his speech, Harry seemed to poke fun at the UK as he joked about how America "stole rugby from us". There was no mention of his father in the speech.

Harry's award show appearance comes after his wife Meghan Markle was also seen smiling as she drove around her California neighbourhood. Body language expert Judi James suggested Harry "relished" in the spotlight.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, she said: "Harry's smile looks as wide as his wife Meghan's smile while she was driving the day before as he appears to clearly relish both his appearance in the spotlight here and the excitement of giving out the award." She also suggested Harry used some "deliberate" techniques to show off his excitement.

Judi explained: "He bends to the mic like a pro, raising his voice to announce 'Cam the Man' with a cheeky-looking, authentic grin and his gestural ritual as he does so is the repeated, overkill hand-rub. A tight rubbing of the hands can suggest anxiety but Harry's ritual is more deliberate and uses the length of the hands, which is associated with anticipation and high levels of excitement.

"Harry looks happy and informal here, apparently on top form in terms of his talent for comedy and enthusiasm for sports." As Harry welcomed Cameron on stage to collect his award, he praised the footballer for his hard work.

"All you guys do on and off the field is truly remarkable. You are role models for millions in the way you carry yourselves and in the way you give back," Harry said. Cameron seemed taken aback by Harry's presence and jokingly said: "Man, Prince freaking Harry. Man, I'm in shock. That's Prince Harry."

The Walter Payton Man of the Year award is an annual award presented by the NFL honouring a player's commitment to philanthropy, community impact and his greatness on the field. In addition to the trophy, Cameron will also be awarded $250,000 (£198,000) to donate to a charity of his choice.

Harry's appearance at the award show came as a surprise to many as he had just made an unexpected trip to England to visit his father. The Duke of Sussex sat down for a half an hour chat with the King, which is believed this was their first proper private conversation for 15 months.
