Meghan Markle was “snubbed” by British Vogue editor Edward Enninful for his star-studded final cover amid rumours of a feud.
Eagle-eyed fans spotted the Duchess of Sussex, who was once pals with the outgoing editor-in-chief of the prestigious fashion bible, was missing from the impressive line-up of models, designers and A-list celebrities on the front of the March 2024 edition. Meghan also wasn’t included at all in the magazine, which featured interviews with the former Suits star’s friends including Oprah Winfrey, Serena Williams, and Jameela Jamil.
Other famous names posing for Edward’s final ever cover for British Vogue, dubbed “40 of the most booked and blessed women on earth”, included Naomi Campbell, Victoria Beckham, Cindy Crawford, Jane Fonda, Miley Cyrus, Kate Moss, Karlie Kloss, Gigi Hadid, Gemma Chan, and Selma Blair.

Her issue that she did was featuring powerful and inspiring women around the world. Eight of those women are actually on this,” the tweeted.

Meghan served as the guest editor for a special Forces for Change edition of British Vogue in 2019, and became friends with the editor while working on the fashion bible. Journalist Omid Scobie, dubbed ‘Meghan’s mouthpiece’, even shared a snap of the cover on Twitter/X, writing: “What a cover.” However, his followers were quick to joke about the former working royal being snubbed. “Was your bestie #MeghanMarkIe busy that day?” one replied.

Meghan reportedly refused to feature herself on the cover of the edition she edited (PA)In a post on social media, it was revealed Edward personally invited famous faces from the runway and Hollywood for the special edition, as he bowed out of editing the fashion bible after being at the helm for over six years. “When the idea for the cover was ignited, there was only one question: would 40 of the most booked and blessed women on earth actually make it to one studio in Manhattan, on one day in December?” they wrote, adding that the cover was full of the “greatest talents”.
Meghan and Edward became close in 2019, but it was later reported the pair had a bitter fallout over the former actress’ demands. According to royal biographer Tom Bower, he claimed that Meghan exasperated the British Vogue editor over “poor ideas” and clashed with Edward and his staff. Writing in his book Revenge: Meghan, Harry, and the War between the Windsors, he alleged that she was “difficult to approach” and they disagreed on how to promote the special edition of the iconic fashion publication.
