An image of Manchester United's possible new look stadium has been produced by AI and shows the potential on offer.
The Red Devils have seen their 76,000-seater stadium neglected by the Glazers throughout their two-decade stewardship and the venue is now considered second rate in comparison to other stadiums around Europe. Sir Jim Ratcliffe has a long list of issues he wants to address - one being the stadium.
The British billionaire is coming on board and will control the club's football operations. His deal for a stake in the Red Devils comes with a guarantee of £237m of investment into Old Trafford. The venue takes on a far more modern look with all four stands connecting and complementing each other, much like Arsenal's and Tottenham's stadiums, which have both been built over the past 20 years. The Telegraph reports that the billionaire wants to turn Old Trafford into a world class venue which could rival Wembley. He is said to feel that United need a state-of-the-art stadium to call home.
Ratcliffe is also weighing up whether to seek investment from the UK Government as he looks to secure some funding for an upgraded ground as part of the 'Levelling Up' pledges. He is understood to think there is a 'strong argument' for the North to have a top-class venue.

The Ineos chief, who has been a United fan all his life, is opposed to the idea of relocating United. Yet the billionaire believes supporters would be open to moving to a world-leading stadium on land surrounding Old Trafford.
Redeveloping Old Trafford is another option being considered but estimates suggest that it could take eight years to get the stadium up to the desired level. There are also concerns about development of the site turning into a situation where the club are throwing 'good money after bad'.
