Coronation Street's new time after soap hit by ITV shake-up

Coronation Street will not air tonight owing to a schedule shake-up.

The ITV soap usually airs on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday for an hour slot between 8pm and 9pm on ITV1, but tonight there will be no visit to the Cobbles owing to a schedule change on the broadcaster's main channel.

However, there will be no episode of Coronation Street this evening due to the live FA football, with Aston Villa taking on Chelsea. Corrie, though, will be back on on Friday with some big scenes ahead.

Adam visits a man who will confess to Natasha Blakeman's murder

On Friday, there will be some big scenes as Adam Barlow gets increasingly concerned about Damon Hay. Sarah and Damon are now in a relationship and Damon suggests to Sarah she needs to divorce Adam, which she then goes on to ask him to do.

Adam, meanwhile, heads to prison to chat to Harvey about his potential grounds for appeal, insisting the only way to be sure everything will work out is if they can pin Natasha Blakeman's murder on someone else. Harvey tells him there is a man called John Perry who will confess to Natasha's murder but when Adam heads to see John at Weatherfield General hospital, he's horrified to find out that John is a cancer patient, will he go through with the plan?

Elsewhere, a new arrival spooks Joel. Joel and Dee-Dee have been together for a while now and things seem to be going great but an angry woman called Emily arrives when Joel is in a client meeting, and Toyah is intrigued who the mystery woman is. Is Joel hiding something, and does Dee-Dee know who this mystery woman might be?

Simon Barlow is continuing to spiral following the departure of his dad Peter Barlow. Leanne is growing concerned about Simon and covers for him with Nick when he doesn't come into work, complaining of a hangover from hell. Elsewhere, Bobby decides to throw a party to cheer Simon up, with the help of Nina and Summer. He wants Lauren to come along, as the others work out he fancies her.

Bethany, meanwhile, continues to find out the gossip about Daisy and Ryan from Lauren as she helps her with her English lesson. Lauren is only too happy to share, completely unaware that the conversation is being recorded. Elsewhere, Steve plans a romantic lunch with Tracy, but things don't go quite how he hoped when she texts to stay she's stuck at the flower market.
