Simon Cowell has resumed work on Britain’s Got Talent after being forced to bow out of recording due to health issues.
The 64-year-old mogul worried fans earlier this month when he dramatically dropped out of filming auditions for the upcoming seventeenth season of the long-running ITV talent show. The illness he was battling was not initially revealed - but it was later revealed that he had been struck down by migraines.
Now Simon is back to work overseeing auditions for BGT alongside returning judges Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli. Fans will notice Simon is sporting special sunglasses that are helping him combat migraines that are caused by the harsh lighting in the studios.
Simon is said to be in good shape after taking time away from the show and is said to be exercising regularly when not working. While the sunglasses he is wearing are tipped to spark a fashion craze.

Simon has also explained why he is wearing orange-lens sunglasses (Fati Sadou/ABACAPRESS.COM/REX/Shutterstock)A source told People magazine: “He was back filming the next morning and for the rest of the week and begins filming in Manchester today. He occasionally gets migraines from being under the bright filming lights for long stretches. His tinted glasses help a lot however, unfortunately he’s been prone to migraines and the filming lights are particularly bright... He's in fantastic health, better than ever and great fitness too, is biking and walking a lot every day and has started reformer Pilates for strengthening his back... All his friends are telling him to bring out a range of his own light-filtering glasses now to help others.”

Simon had previously hit out at reports he had pulled out of BGT filming due to a mystery illness. He took to Instagram to clear the air - sharing a snap of himself sat at his judges seat with a confused expression on his face. He wrote: “I just found out according to the internet, I have a ‘mystery illness’. For anyone concerned, I missed two auditions at the end of one day, two weeks ago, because I do get migraines after long days in the filming lights. Next week we are filming BGT in Manchester - I look forward to seeing you then.”
He added: “PS. This is why I wear these glasses!” A second image he shared at the same time showed a close up of the head of a fly that had large orange eyes - not dissimilar from the colour of the glasses the TV judge was wearing.
His post sparked a wave of support from fans - with many wishing him a speedy recovery. And many were thrilled to see him address the fact he was wearing glasses with an orange tint in the lens. One thankful fan commented: “Aha! Thanks for answering why those glasses are that colour!”
