A spectacular construction made out of snow, in a classy black top hat, Jeffrey the Snowman is an eye-catcher.

He stands 58 feet tall next to a Wisconsin highway and attracts dozens of people every day that stop to admire the stunning model, according to his creators.

The giant snowman is built every year since 2019 by the Carlson family, as a tribute to a relative of theirs who passed away.

Craig Carlson, who runs a construction company, took the initiative in honour of his late brother Jeffrey, after whom he named the snowman.

The building of the dazzling four-story figure outside Carlston Constructions' parking lot, took months of planning.

Jeffrey is 72 feet at the base, 58 feet at the body, and 44 feet at the head, while 166,000 pounds of snow were required to assemble him.

Carlston told CBS news : "We did it [in 2019] to try to win a trophy. He was 19 feet tall. He was a little rough.

"The crew, and my boys, and I had so much fun doing it that we decided to do it again.

"On the weekend, we have 150 vehicles a day coming through just to come and see it."

He added: "We lost my brother six years ago and his name was Jeff, so we did it in memory of him. He'd like it, so it's been a lot of fun."

Craig, with his sons Hunter and Boe Carlston, decided to keep building the snowman and try to make him bigger and better every winter.

Hunter said: "The second year, we got him up to 32 feet. And then the third year, which was last year, 44 feet. And now this year we decided to go even bigger.

And Boe added: "It doesn't feel like work. It's fun."

Jeffrey's arms are actual trees and he has a pipe made out of PVC while his hat was raised with the use of a crane.

Jeffrey is also serving as a fundraiser for the Milltown Community Cub this year, with all proceeds going toward the village's 75th-anniversary celebration.
