Jennifer Lopez was unfazed as she yanked out one of her hair extensions during her Saturday Night Live performance.
The 54-year-old was on the comedy skit show to unveil her new single Can’t Get Enough with Latto and Redman, and looked incredible as she rocked a white crop top that exposed her abs, teamed with a pair of black trousers and jacket. JLo didn’t break a sweat as she launched into the high-energy choreography she's famous for, but almost had an epic hair malfunction during her set.
Midway through the routine, Jennifer can be seen running her hands briefly through her long brunette tresses, and immediately snatched her hand back and threw one of her hair extensions to the floor. Her dancers were forced to perform around the rogue extension, and the On The Floor hitmaker carried on and delivered a perfect routine, despite the hair emergency.

She discarded the extension on the stage and carried on dancing (SNL/NBC)Her eagle-eyed fans were quick to spot her hair extension flying through the air, and took to Twitter/X to praise the mother-of-two for her professionalism during the live show. “What a performer, shake it off and keep on!” one fan tweeted. “The show must go on. JLO ate up that performance,” another added, while a third chimed in: “Jennifer Lopez loosing a hair extension mid SNL live set and dancing it off and then it’s still onstage and the dancers are kicking it? A vibe.”

The episode of Saturday Night Live was already embroiled in controversy, after presenter Ayo Edebiri came under fire for her previous comments about JLo. The Bear actress, who recently won an Emmy for her portrayal of Sydney, slammed the singer in an interview on the Scam Goddess podcast back in 2020, and her rant about Jennifer has been unearthed and went viral on social media.

I think she thinks that she’s still good even though she’s not singing for most of these songs,” Ayo said at the time, as she claimed the star’s career was a “scam”. She also confessed she was “fascinated” with the Jennifer’s success, and alleged she doesn’t sing any of her own music. “A lot of the write-ups of the songs will be like, ‘J. Lo didn’t have time to make it to the studio,’ like, ‘J. Lo was busy.’ It’s like, ‘Doing what?’ Not singing, obviously!” she quipped.
During the show on Saturday, Ayo addressed the controversy, and apologised for the “mean comments” she made during the old interview. “It’s wrong to leave mean comments or post comments just for clout or run your mouth on a podcast and you don’t consider the impact because you’re 24 and stupid,” she said. “But I think I speak for everyone when I say from now on, we’re going to be a lot more thoughtful about what we post online.”
