Prince Harry has developed a greater level of “confidence and self-awareness” compared to previous years, a body language expert has said.
Darren Stanton has lifted the lid on the Duke of Sussex’s “emotional shift” in recent years, following his appearances on 60 Minutes and ITV to promote his memoir Spare.
Speaking on behalf of Betfair Bingo, the psychologist compared the tell-all interviews with Harry’s previous appearances on Oprah Winfrey (2021) and Harry & Meghan: An African Journey (2019).
The expert explains why he believes Harry is showing his natural side after “suppressing his emotions” for years, and reveals the telltale signs that suggest the Duke is “determined to speak his truth”.
Darren claims that Harry has changed his body language over the years, and “developed a greater level of confidence and self awareness”.

He added: “From my previous analysis of Harry, he used to adopt many gestures that were considered to be of a nervous nature and to reassure himself in public situations.
“Just like his father, Harry would regularly be seen playing with his cufflinks or placing his hand inside his jacket, which indicated that he was trying to conceal something or have little contact with others.
“Since then he has most definitely matured, as part of the growing up process. He has also experienced a lot that many of us will never experience, such as going to war or losing a close relative.”

One key difference in Harry’s body language is the tone in which he expresses himself (Getty Images)According to the expert, one key difference in Harry’s body language is the tone in which he expresses himself - especially with anger.
“Particularly with his recent interviews, we have definitely seen Harry stand his ground and get assertive when being asked questions,” he said.
“During these interviews, the first sign that we need to look for is a sudden shifting emotion. A main indicator for Harry is when his cheeks become very red and his eyebrows are pulled together.
“Psychologically, this is the emergence of anger manifesting in his subconscious. We saw this a lot during his interviews with Tom Bradby and Anderson Cooper, where he flashed many micro expressions of anger.”
Darren goes on to say that Harry did not show much emotion during the Oprah Winfrey interview, “which is something he isn’t afraid to show now”.
The body language expert explains that we are seeing a lot more frustration from the Duke as he is determined to speak his mind.

He said: “Since the Oprah and Africa interviews, we are now seeing a very different, more natural version of Harry. I believe this is the most open, honest and genuine version of Harry we have seen in many years.
“In his recent interviews, he has spoken openly about the death of his mother. While discussing the deep loss, he has displayed many signals of emotion and sadness, which he would often suppress in the past.
“This new version of Harry definitely shows him in a much more natural, grounded and three-dimensional light.”
