Meghan Markle 'penning memoir from her perspective' as there's 'no way' she'll stay quiet, expert speculates

Former Royal butler, Paul Burrell, believes that Meghan Markle is likely following in her husband's footsteps and penning her own memoir, as there's "no way" she'll stay quiet.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they were stepping down as working members of the Royal Family in early 2020, with them announcing they were departing the United Kingdom in favour of America shortly after. And since moving to California, the couple have made headlines for the many bombshell claims they have made in various projects.

From their 2021 Oprah Winfrey interview to the 2022 six-part docuseries on Netflix, and Prince Harry's 2023 memoir Spare - the couple haven't slowed down when it comes to putting out eyebrow-raising content. And now, speculation is rife that Meghan could follow suit and pen a memoir like her husband did.

The Duchess of Sussex, 42, is rumoured to be considering putting pen to paper for a tell-all memoir. The rumours started swirling last year after her husband released his book Spare at the start of 2023.

Harry and Meghan signed a lucrative book deal with Penguin Random House, which will see the couple release four books as part of their contract, with two already on bookshelves and two more said to be in the works. And now, Paul Burrell, who worked as Princess Diana's butler from 1987 until 1997, has said that he is "waiting" for Meghan to release her own book.

Speaking on behalf of Slingo, Paul has said: "I am waiting for Meghan to release her own memoir. It is inevitably going to write her side of the story because of how absent she was from Spare, and that is because she is penning her memoir and telling it from a woman's perspective.

"There is no way she is going to stay quiet: she is going to want her side of the story out there and that will do even further damage to the Royal family and rock them even more."

Meghan has already written children's book The Bench which came out in June 2021, and Prince Harry has already penned his shocking and scathing memoir Spare. The couple is also rumoured to be working on a third book together, a wellness book, with the fourth rumoured to be a memoir by Meghan - although this has not been confirmed.

Meanwhile, Mr Burrell also told Slingo: "I don’t think they will ever be invited back with open arms. The doors are firmly shut: I think the royals are consolidating. They are keeping tight-lipped and they are keeping everything in-house.

"I think that is their tactic: they have regrouped and pulled together and there is no space for Meghan and Harry."
