It looks like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could have a future with Netflix after all, with one of the streaming service's top bosses announcing they have more projects in the pipeline.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex signed an exclusive £80million contract with Netflix after stepping down from the Royal Family. However, the couple only signed a five-year deal, which means it's due to expire next year.

There had been rumours that Meghan and Harry were hoping to jump ships and partner with Paramount Pictures after meeting with CEO Brian Robbins at the premiere of Bob Marley: One Love in Jamaica. But Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria has put a stop to the rumours.

Speaking at an event in Hollywood to announce Netflix's upcoming projects, Bela teased there are a few more things to come from Meghan and Harry before they part ways with the company. "Oh, what are they working on. They actually have a bunch in development," she said, according to Deadline.

"They have a couple of unscripted things they're working on with Brandon [Reigg]. And they actually have like a bunch of development, they have a movie in development, a [scripted] series that they're working on."

She emphasised the projects are "all very early development". She also seemed very excited about the film, gushing that the "movie's great". Bela did not offer further details, but the "unscripted" projects are thought to be documentaries.

Meghan and Harry bought the screen rights to Carley Fortune's Meet Me At The Like, meaning it's likely this could be their movie project with Netflix. The bestselling book tells the the story of a couple who meet in their thirties and deals with themes of childhood trauma, including losing a parent in a car crash, mental health challenges and post-natal depression.

The Sussexes have already released a number of projects with Netflix. They gained headlines around the world when they released their docuseries Harry & Meghan in December 2022.

The series gave an insight into their time in the Royal Family and saw them issue a number of attacks on different members of The Firm. They also created Live To Lead, which told the stories of influential people such as Greta Thunberg and Gloria Steinem.

Harry's Heart of Invictus documentary was also released on Netflix last year. The couple had been working on an animated series, Pearl, but it was dropped in 2022.
