Royal duties may be off the table for the time being for the Prince and Princess of Wales as Kate recovers from surgery.

But that hasn't stopped the pair from being given a major royal update along with their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. The whole Wales family have seen their bios on the official Royal Family website updated with more up-to-date pictures and information.

When it comes to Kate, the main picture on her bio has been changed to a smiley snap of her taken while meeting the Windrush Cymru Elders in Cardiff in October. Other new images added to her profile include a business-like photo of her attending a meeting for her Early Years campaign as well as attending her annual Christmas Carol Concert in December.

When it comes to Prince William, his main photo is one taken of him giving his memorable speech at the Coronation concert last May. There is also a lot more information on William's work, while Kate's bio has also been updated to reflect her recent engagements.

And not to leave George, Charlotte and Louis out, all of their bios have brand new pictures, with their profile photos being the latest snaps that were released to mark their birthdays last year. The official Royal Family website has been slow to be fully updated since the death of the late Queen in 2022, with Buckingham Palace previously hinting this would be a slow process.

It told the Express last year: "The Royal Family website contains over five thousand pages of information about the life and work of the Royal Family. Following the death of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, content has been revisited and updated periodically. Some content may be out of date until this process is complete."

The new updates come just days after Kate left hospital and returned to her home in Windsor almost two weeks after undergoing major abdominal surgery. She was admitted to the London Clinic – the same private hospital where the King received treatment for an enlarged prostate – for a planned operation on January 16.

The 42-year-old future Queen is not expected to return to official duties until after Easter, and William has temporarily stepped back from his royal role to juggle caring for her and their children. It is understood Kate's return to official duties will depend on medical advice nearer the time. Once the princess’s care and recovery has settled, the Prince of Wales plans to resume his public engagements.

Among the engagements the princess will miss over the coming weeks are the Baftas in February, the annual Commonwealth Day service in Westminster Abbey, and the St David’s Day Parade at the start of March, as well as the St Patrick’s Day parade with the military later the same month. Aides insist the princess will be out of sight over the next few months but is likely to be working behind the scenes on her early years projects. Official overseas tours for William and Kate are also off the table for the time being.

The exact details of the princess's condition have not been revealed but the Palace said previously it was not cancer-related and that Kate wished her personal medical information to remain private.
