Since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attended the Bob Marley: One Love premiere in Jamaica last week, courtesy of Paramount Pictures, speculation has been rife that the couple could team up with the company when their deal with Netflix expires.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex signed a lucrative deal with Netflix in 2020, which came shortly after their departure from the British Royal Family when they stepped down as senior working royals and decided to move to the States.

Since signing a five-year contract with Netflix, which is due to expire in 2025, the couple have worked on several projects. The Sussexes famously released a six-part docuseries in 2022, which raised eyebrows and made headlines, with Prince Harry then releasing the Heart of Invictus documentary last year.

And amid the couple having attended the Bob Marley film premiere following a reported invite from the CEO of Paramount, Brian Robbins, speculation has been rife that when their contract with Netflix comes to an end, they could jump ship in favour of Paramount. But what the couple could work on remains open to guesses, with a Hollywood guru now weighing in.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Lynn Carratt from Press Box PR has said that if Meghan and Harry sign a deal with Paramount in 2025, she thinks Meghan will want to revisit her passion project, the animated series Pearl, which was canned by Netflix before production even began.

"The show was to be exec produced with David Furnish and follows the adventures of a 12-year-old girl who finds inspiration in a variety of influential women throughout history," Lynn added.

She went on: "I also think that Meghan and Harry will want to move more into producing films and TV series especially if their debut film adaptation of Meet Me At The Lake is successful. There is also talk of Meghan making her directing debut in 2024, and again, I think she’d love the opportunity to direct some shows for Paramount and build her profile as a director."

Lynn added: "In the past year or so Harry has started to move out on his own and work on projects independent of Meghan and I believe he’d love to produce a documentary on Africa.

"It’s a place that Harry calls his second home, it’s the place in the world he feels safe and, he has close friends. His first holiday with Meghan was to Botswana and, he is extremely passionate about conserving wildlife populations which I’m sure he’d love to highlight in a documentary."
