A popular fitness trainer who was found dead on a pavement in Brazil was murdered by her husband of 10 years who heartlessly ditched her lifeless body in front of her parents' home, police believe.
The body of glamorous Debora Michels, 30, was found on a pavement in Montenegro, a city in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul, in the early hours of Friday, January 26. The suspect, who has been named only as Alex, reportedly told the police that he had thrown his partner against a piece of furniture and that she lost consciousness during a heated argument that turned physical.
He then took her to hospital for medical attention, but after realising that she was dead, he ditched her on the pavement in front of her parents' house, according to local media. He has since been remanded in custody by the police, whose request for an extension of the detention period was granted on Saturday evening.

(Newsflash)Debora's funeral took place on Saturday, January 27, before being buried in the Municipal Cemetery of Montenegro at around 11am the same day. Her outraged and heartbroken brother Alex Michels told local media: "This situation is revolting. What our family wants is justice. You cannot leave anyone unpunished."
And her close friend Deise Chemelo said: "Debora was a magnetic person. She lit up every place she went; she only had friends, and she only did good. A fighter, an entrepreneur, there is no explanation for what happened. She didn't deserve it. We don't understand." The police investigation is ongoing.
