Multiple people were arrested in connection to the death of six individuals who were discovered in an out-of-the-way area of a California desert.
The six corpses were found last Tuesday night near a minivan and SUV on a bumpy road in the high San Bernardino desert. California deputies were dispatched to an area by Highway 395 in El Mirage, which is about 35 miles east of Lancaster, to conduct a wellness check. Police said the bodies of the six victims were dumped on a dirt road sanctioned off by yellow crime scene tape and remained there for several hours.
Officers' initially reported seeing five bodies until the sixth was located later on Wednesday. As of now, the names, ages and gender of the bodies have not been released.

Another media outlet said aerial footage from the scene showed bloody corpses in the dirt with dozens of yellow evidence markers surrounded by bullet casings. Two vehicles were also left at the scene, a blue SUV and a white van.

The SUV was moderately damages, bearing multiple bullet holes and several blown-out windows. Cops said one of the bodies were found in one of the vehicles. Some of the bodies appeared to have been burned, according to KTLA who said the images were too graphic to air.
Police said an explanation or motive behind the deaths has not been determined. “We have not confirmed the sex or the age of any of the decedents at this point, so that information will come out as we continue the investigation, as well as the cause and manner of death,” San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Mara Rodriguez said at a press conference Wednesday.
“We have investigators out there. The crime scene will be considered for all evidence; we will collect that. Our coroner investigators will do their part in the investigation as far as the decedents are concerned.”
