Kathryn Louise Burn has slammed the interest over what female Apprentice candidates "look like, rather than their capabilities and achievements".

Sharing a video explaining her view on Instagram, Kathryn, who was an Apprentice finalist in 2022, captioned the post: "‘She looks like a trolly dolly air head. She should dress more like a man for business and not flaunt her body’… Yep this was a comment about me when my photo was released 2 years ago for @apprenticeuk.

"I am SICK of seeing the same articles come out every single year when candidates are announced - concentrating on what they (usually the women) look like, rather than their capabilities and achievements. And, the comments that follow off the back of these articles.

"One of the most disappointing things is that these articles are all written by women too. What are you thoughts on this? Should women dress a certain way if they want to be taken seriously in business?"

In the video, Kathryn, who runs her own pyjama business, explained: "I see the same articles come out every single year that The Apprentice candidates are announced. Now I remember when I was announced on the show two years ago, my photo in a bikini was on the front cover of The Sun.

"Now this was just a photo that was just on my social media, someone had gone on there, taken that photo and plastered it on the front page of The Sun newspaper. Now the comments that I was met with for this photo were outrageous.

"I was called dumb, I had no business acumen, I was never going to get very far, I was there for fame, I looked like a Love Islander, there was no way I was going to do well, I was thick – all of these comments just because of this one photo."

She continued: "How ridiculous and how archaic and outdated is this attitude?" Kathryn then told her followers those in business can "wear whatever we want to wear" and this does not "impact how capable we are".

Kathryn's followers rushed to support The Apprentice star as one commented: "Think it’s far more important to be your authentic self and dress for yourself. Owning your sexuality and your image doesn’t mean you deserve to be sexualised, demeaned and objectified.. Says everything about them and *nothing* about you girl." Another added: "Who cares what anyone thinks. The freedom of not caring is beyond this world."
