If you play any type of lottery, the thought of winning big will fill you with glee and excitement - but one woman's dreams were shattered when she opened her Postcode Lottery box, only to find "unacceptable" contents.

Paige Irklis said she would "like to have a word with Postcode Lottery" about something that'd happened to her that she didn't think was fair, writing in the caption that the situation had caused "emotional damage."

"Something happened yesterday, which in my opinion is totally unacceptable, and I can't believe that they would even do this", she fumed at the start of the video.

"I can't believe you would put anything through that - you need to sort it", she continued, before she launched into a rant about what she thought was wrong with what they'd done.

Paige explained that she "came back", and her partner told her that she'd received a box from Postcode Lottery, which got her excited and her response was "s**t, did you open it?" He said no, and so she went to the dining room table where the box was that read: "Congratulations Paige."

"In the back of my head I'm quitting my job, I'm moving abroad, my life's going to be fantastic, do you know what I mean? I had it all planned out" - but then she opened the box and was left mortified.

She said the box "smelt nice", and was convinced that they'd "sprayed the cheque with perfume." She explained that "in the box there's a box", so she opened the smaller box, and then she said: "Do you know what the suspense was for?"

"You have won...some luxury scented candles", she raged, looking visibly fuming on the video clip. She said she wasn't being ungrateful because the candles smelled "lovely", but she compared it to getting an email from The National Lottery saying 'congratulations you've won' - but it's a lucky dip, not the jackpot.

"I really thought my street had won...finally! Someone's knocking at the door, someone's ringing the bell", she complained, as she quoted the ear-worm advert for Postcode Lottery.

She then said that she wanted to let Postcode Lottery know to "not send customers luxury scented candles in a box that makes them look like they're going to be millionaires, and how about just send me a big fat f**king cheque instead?"

In the comments, others remembered random things they'd been gifted from Postcode Lottery too. One woman wrote: "I got a £5 voucher for M&S. Who can spend £5 there seriously." "We won some socks", someone else penned. Another shared an even worse scenario, writing: "I cancelled mine a week before and my postcode came in for £30,000."

The Mirror have contacted Postcode Lottery for comment.
