A mum is seriously miffed after realising a school assistant messed with her youngest daughter's hairstyle.
Before dropping her daughter off at school, she put her child's thick wavy hair in two high bunches, which she hoped would stay intact throughout the day. However, she was left confused after spotting her five-year-old rocking a new do when she got home.
Her bubbly daughter had her long locks in two separate plaits, which left her wondering why the school felt the need to change it without seeking her permission first. Taking to Mumsnet, the anonymous woman penned: "When I picked her up from school, she had two low plaits in, I didn't notice for ages and until she was in the car and only then as it was different to how I do it and then I remembered her hair in the morning."
She added: "I asked [my daughter] why her hair had changed and she said the assistant called her over after lunch when she was playing with her friend and took her hair out and put two plaits in."
She was worried that the school assistant may have changed the hairstyle due to her daughter having nits - but felt she should have been informed if this was the case.

"My first thought was nits maybe, but we always get informed by the teacher that day, plus an email goes out." She then asked: "Did she just not like the style?"
Some people believed it was likely the youngster complained of her hairstyle or one of her bunches came loose, which is why the school assistant had to take action.
One person said: "I work in a primary school and would never do this. Seems odd. Only thing I can think of was it was in her face and she mentioned it was annoying her. I think that's the only reason I would touch a child's hair!"
Another person added: "Probably one bunch came out. 5 year olds are not reliable narrators. At our primary everyone should have their hair up." And a third chimed in: "Was some of it hanging loose? Lots of schools don't like long hair hanging down, it's can get stuck in stuff and yes, nits!"
