NFL legend Bill Belichick has been offered a chance to host a podcast on The Ringer network by Bill Simmons, after being overlooked by the Atlanta Falcons.

Belichick left the New England Patriots after a tough 2023 season, ending an incredibly successful 24-year partnership. The iconic coach transformed the Patriots from a team with no wins to six-time Super Bowl champions, alongside quarterback Tom Brady and owner Rob Kraft.

However, the team struggled after Brady moved to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, finishing with a poor 4-13 record in 2023. The turmoil led to Belichick stepping down as head coach and general manager, and the Falcons considered him for their vacancy but ultimately chose Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris instead.

As a result, Simmons saw an opportunity and offered Belichick a spot on his podcast network. In a video, Simmons joked: "So Bill Belichick did not get hired by the Atlanta Falcons, which is hilarious. They made him do two interviews. He's won six Super Bowls. He's a football genius. He stole the Super Bowl from Seattle.

"Go watch that tape, Atlanta. I guess that didn't come up in your two interviews, you jack*****. This is why you're the Atlanta Falcons.

"Anyway, they didn't hire him. Bill Belichick, come to The Ringer. I got a spot for you. I got Tuesdays, Thursdays. Come on like Doc Rivers did. Come on for an hour, we'll talk football during the season. If you want, you can guess the lines with me and Sal. You can wear whatever you want. You could do it from where you did the draft that year in your kitchen in Nantucket.

"I think you're great in media. Who am I bidding against? I'll get the Swedes [Spotify owners] to cut a check. You won six Super Bowls and now you can come to The Ringer for one year before you're coach of the Dallas Cowboys a year from now. Let's join forces. You know how to get in touch with me."

The Seattle Seahawks and Washington Commanders are the only two teams left with head coach vacancies. Neither team has been linked with a move for Belichick, who might sit out this season before returning to the league.
