Casemiro has quashed talk of him heading for the Manchester United exit - insisting he wants to bring more trophies to Old Trafford.

The Brazil international arrived in the red half of Manchester from Real Madrid for a fee of £70million in the summer of 2022. Casemiro enjoyed a stellar debut campaign, helping the club end their six-year wait for a trophy with a Carabao Cup triumph last Feburary.

However, he has failed to replicate similar form in his second season, with a number of injury issues seeing the midfielder struggle to show his best. Casemiro has been sidelined since November 1, but could return in the FA Cup fourth round clash away at Newport County.

Speculation suggesting Casemiro's time at United is nearing its end has been rife in recent weeks. It had been reported that new co-owner and head of footballing operations Sir Jim Ratcliffe was mulling over the idea of paying the Brazilian out of his contract in a bid to get him off the books as soon as possible.

However, he has made clear he is still loving life at Old Trafford. Speaking to MBC, Casemiro claimed: "It's all amazing, since the first day, I was made to feel very welcome by the club, the players and the fans.

"I received so much love - on and off the pitch. It was a unique and magical experience, and I needed such an experience. I am so happy in Manchester with everything the city and the club offer me.

"I am happy with that and with helping the club improve and get back to the path of achievements. So yeah, I'm happy to play for Manchester United."

Those remarks may go some way to ending the recent rumours linking Casemiro with a move to Saudi outfit Al-Nassr, where ex-team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo now resides. The Middle-Eastern side were reportedly plotting a 'huge offer' after Ronaldo's glowing review of his former Real Madrid and United colleague.

Ratcliffe is believed to view Casemiro as a clear example of what he deems poor recruitment in recent years by United. If Al-Nassr were to offer up an eye-watering sum, the midfielder may be out the door regardless of how happy he claims to be at Old Trafford.
