iPhone calculator trick dubbed 'life-changing' by amazed Apple fans

An iPhone calculator trick has been labelled "life-changing" by amazed Apple fans because it solves the most annoying thing about them. The hack, which was flagged up on Facebook, solves the most frustrating thing about the iPhone calculator - the inability to type a backspace.

However, a simple swipe left or right on your screen will remove one number, which is especially useful if you make an error in the middle of a lengthy sum. While the feature has been available for years, many iPhone users are only discovering it now, after mum Kristine Gosse posted about it on Facebook.

In 2020, Ms Gosse wrote: "How old were you when you found out you can delete a single digit in your iPhone calculator by swiping left or right? Pretty sure I've wasted years of my life pressing that C!!!!!"

Her post was shared over 153,000 times by shocked iPhone users.

One replied: "Seriously Kristine Gosse you have changed my life! First with holding down the space bar to control the cursor and now with this."

Another added: "This will revolutionise my entire life I'm sure!!"

And one joked: "Yeah this woulda been nice to know when doing billing."

The post comes shortly after an iPhone keyboard trick was discovered that makes editing texts a lot easier.

Food blogger Krissy Brierre-Davis tweeted: "How come you guys never told me about this iPhone trick? I feel duped."

To use the trick, tap and hold the space bar and move your thumb left, right, up or down.

You'll notice that this then moves the cursor along the text, allowing you to edit without having the tap the text with your thumb.
