Police called to BGT audition to deal with 'mental health crisis'
Filming for the new series of Britain's Got Talent took a bit of a sad turn on Wednesday, with the ITV show's team rushing to help a woman suffering a mental health crisis nearby.
Simon Cowell, 64, looked fresh faced as he stepped out for the auditions at The London Palladium, arriving at the iconic venue before his fellow judges Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, Bruno Tonioli and the talent show's hosts, Geordie duo Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.
But as hopeful auditionees took to the stage and tried to impress Simon and co, upsetting scenes were taking place as police were called to help a woman in distress outside the Palladium. Speaking to the Mirror regarding the worrying incident, a Britain's Got Talent insider said: "Police were dealing with an individual outside of the Palladium who was causing a bit of a stir, and the BGT team helped out. But BGT didn’t call the police and there was no threat to the judges as they didn't get inside the Palladium."
