A 30-year-old man has died after collapsing at a PureGym during a morning workout session.
Emergency services were scrambled to the scene at the premises, shortly before 9am on Thursday.
The man's family was yet to be informed by police, while the death is being treated as "unexpected" by police.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "Police were called by London Ambulance Service at 8.40am on Thursday, January 12 to reports of a man collapsed at a Gymnasium at High Road, Ilford.
"The public, officers and finally medics administered CPR but sadly, despite their efforts, the man, aged 30, died at the scene at 09:26hrs."

The spokesperson said the man's next of kin had been notified.

A file was being prepared for the Coroner.
The gym was closed for the remainder of the day and was believed to have reopened at 6am on Friday.
A PureGym spokesperson told MyLondon: “We can confirm that very sadly a member died at our PureGym Ilford club this morning.
"The gym team assisted the member and the Police and London Ambulance Service attended, but unfortunately despite their best efforts, he passed away."
PureGym is a 24 hour "high quality, low cost" gym chain with more than 320 sites across the UK.
The chain's website claims it offers more than 50 gym classes which are complementary with a membership.
