Hollyoaks fans 'solve' new Joel Dexter plot after coma twist amid death fears

Hollyoaks viewers think there's a new twist ahead for Joel Dexter and another character after recent drama.

The character is currently in a coma on the E4 and Channel 4 soap following the car crash stunt. Firefighter Joel was hit by a speeding truck at the scene of the car pile-up, which left several residents injured and two dead.

Joel's half-sister Ella Richardson was one of those killed in the crash, while Joel was struck at the scene and left fighting for his life. In a recent episode, Joel regained consciousness only to be told they needed to put him back into a coma as his body was not recovering well.

After his pregnant girlfriend Leela Lomax lied to him about his ex Cleo McQueen visiting him while he was unconscious, he was a little confused. But Leela has since dropped another big lie in the fallout to Joel being put into another coma.

As Leela bumped into Cleo in the village, she lied and said Joel didn't even mention her before claiming he'd proposed to her. While Joel had planned to pop the question prior to him being injured, he never got the chance and Leela soon found the ring in his belongings.

Leela is now wearing the ring though claiming he proposed, and fans are convinced a new twist will be on the way for the couple and Cleo. Taking to social media, fans guessed Joel would either forget about Leela when he wakes up, or that he would discover her lies and ditch her for ex Cleo.

One viewer said: "Lela shouldn’t have lied to Cleo the truth will come out and she’ll lose him, sadly Joel is drawn to Cleo," as another commented: "This will backfire IF and when Joel wakes up and IF he remembers anything..." A third added: "its gonna end up worse for her when joel realises she's lied more than once to keep them apart. there was no need for her to lie when she already has what she wants," as another said: "Leela pretending she and Joel are engaged. This will not end well..."
