Meghan Markle "would create guaranteed headlines" if she returned to the Suits universe with Aaron Korsh's new spin-off, according to an expert.

The Duchess of Sussex left the show in the season seven finale as her character Rachel Zane married Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) and moved to Seattle. Now, Suits creator Aaron has scripted a brand new show and it seems there's a character perfect for Meghan.

Erica is a career-focused Californian girl in her 30s who is "smarter than everyone" and has a very eventful personal life, something fans believe would be perfect for Meghan's return to acting. PR expert Matt Yanofsky agrees, but said there could be one problem.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Matt said: "There's dozens of women in Hollywood who could play that role. However, casting Meghan would create guaranteed headlines across the world."

However, he's unsure if Meghan would want to return to the hit legal drama. "Does Meghan want to work this much and go to a set every week? Based on what happened with her podcast, she likely doesn't want such a stressful, time consuming job." He also said he's "sceptical" that the role has been created specifically for Meghan.

PR expert Ryan McCormick, however, urged the Duchess of Sussex to "take the role immediately". He told us: "However, she might want to consider a lower fee in exchange for some creative control over her character."

Ryan suggested Meghan's character "should not be in storylines or situations which Meghan would morally disagree with or would present her in a negative light." He added: "In order for this to be a win for Meghan, "Erica" should embody some of her positive values and mannerisms. Aaron Korsh could also help the Duchess of Sussex by writing scenes that allow the full scale of her acting talents to be seen and present her character as deserving of empathy."

Aaron's new show is being developed by NBCUniversal. It's currently unclear if any of the original Suits cast will make an appearance in the new series.

The growing speculation about Meghan's potential return to Suits comes after her co-star Patrick said he "hopes she comes back". He spoke about a potential spinoff for Suits at the Golden Globe Awards and said: "Yes, yes let's go, I'll do it. Yeah I'm ready, Mike and Rachel in Seattle."
