If you're fed-up of losing your favourite pair of jeans to the tumble dryer, this hack is for you.
If you have ever shrunk one of your favourite items of clothing in the wash you will know it can be an incredibly frustrating feeling, especially if you followed all the care instructions correctly. But before you dig your wallet out to buy another version of your best jumper or most comfortable trousers, give this laundry hack a go - because it is a total game changer.
This cleanng trick requires nothing except a super common household item and a little care, time, and attention, and your beloved garment will be left as good as new.
The hack was posted by content creator Morgan Cook, who goes by @morganevelyncook on TikTok where she has gained over 188,000 followers. Morgan tried out the laundry hack after her favourite pair of sweatpants had shrunk, even though she had air-dried them and washed them in a cold setting.
Despite washing her trousers so carefully, she found they didn't "come past my ankles" once they were dried, she explained in the video - which wracked up 65,000 likes.

"They were the best-fitting pair of sweatpants I'd ever put on, so I am devasted," she said, "but the internet told me I could unshrink them by soaking them in water with hair conditioner".
Morgan filmed herself filling her sink with water and adding hair conditioner before mixing it together by hand, but the content creator noted "It didn't really fully dissolve, there's a lot of conditioner blobs in there."
Then she set a timer for 30 minutes and let the conditioner work its magic, while she was left hoping "for the best". Once the timer was up, she removed the sweatpants and "rinsed out some of the conditioner" excess that remained, before she "squeezed as much water as [she] possibly could out of them."
She then laid a towel on the floor and "gently shaped them back into their original shape. Morgan left the sweatpants to air dry, and in a follow-up video showed the hack's impressive results.
She later hung the trousers over the edge of her shower, "for two days" and she noted an added bonus of this method was that they "smell pretty good because of the conditioner".
Morgan then tried her trousers back on and was pleased to say that she thought her attempts had been successful when she realised "they easily come up over my belly button again" and that the length of the trousers had returned to where it used to sit before they had shrunk.
"I thought I ruined them," she said in the follow-up video, "I thought I wore them once and I ruined them, but they unshrunk!" Although Morgan noted she wasn't sure how would be the best way to wash her favourite sweatpants going forward, she seemed thrilled that they had gone back to their original size and state.
