A woman has died after being hit by two cars on a busy high street.
Police were called to reports of a crash in Wirral, Merseyside, just before 6.45pm yesterday.
The pedestrian, in her 80s, was struck by a blue Saab and then a silver Ford Fiesta.
Merseyside Police, North West Ambulance Service and Merseyside Fire and Rescue emergency responders rushed to the scene.
The patient died before she could be taken to hospital.

Her next of kin have been informed.
An investigation has been launched with checks of CCTV and witness interviews being carried out.

More than a dozen police vehicles were at the crash last night, with a white forensics tent in place in the middle of Market Street in Hoylake, which was closed off.
Witnesses said the woman was first struck on the westbound side of the road, and then eastbound.
A forensic tent was erected last night (Liverpool Echo)One told the Liverpool Echo: "I didn't see the crash, but I heard it happen. It wasn't long before police, ambulance, fire service and a sea of blue lights were here."
An ambulance and a paramedic car were at the scene.
Merseyside Detective Sergeant Amy Murray said: "Our sincere thoughts and condolences are with the family of the woman who sadly died following this tragic incident.
