Fears Harry could become 'interim King' as Charles and William out of action
There are "fears" that Prince Harry could become an "interim King" as the current monarch King Charles III and next in line Prince William are both "out of action".
Earlier this week it was revealed that the King of England will soon receive treatment for an enlarged prostate, with this news being shared just mere hours after it was announced that Catherine, the Princess of Wales, recently underwent abdominal surgery.
Buckingham Palace said in a statement about the King: "In common with thousands of men each year, the King has sought treatment for an enlarged prostate. His Majesty’s condition is benign and he will attend hospital next week for a corrective procedure. The King's public engagements will be postponed for a short period of recuperation."

The Palace refused to confirm what Kate was being treated for but confirmed the condition was non-cancerous.

And now it has been claimed that with King Charles soon set to be out of action, and with Prince William looking after his wife who is currently recovering, Prince Harry could be forced to step in.
British journalist Piers Morgan, who hosts the show Uncensored on TalkTV, spoke about the current situation within the Royal Family with the network's royal editor Sarah Hewson, who explained other members of the family may have to step in.

What actually happens here? We’re kind of in uncharted territory."
Sarah then spoke about the Counsellors of State and noted how it "throw[s] up a few problems". She added: "We know the Prince of Wales is looking after his wife and children. Then it’s Prince Harry who is in California. Next on the list the Duke of York…"
Piers added: "Oh my God… He [Harry] won’t be interim King will he? With Queen Meghan?" To which Sarah said: "No he won't," before explaining that it would likely be the Princess Royal and the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Andrew, to step in.
She then affirmed: "The King will only be out of action for a short period of time."
There is however, legislation that means Prince Harry cannot become an "interim King". While Prince Harry and Prince Andrew are no longer working royals, they do still hold the constitutional roles of Counsellors of State, meaning they can, in theory, represent the monarch when they are unwell or abroad.
But Charles took swift action shortly after he ascended the throne to prevent the two senior Royal Family members from being able to fulfill these duties.
Last year, Anne, Princess Royal and Prince Edward were added to the Counsellors of State Act 2022, enabling them to perform royal functions in the King's name. And during a second reading of the bill in the House of Lords in November 2022, Lord True - Leader of the House of Lords and Lord Keeper of the Privy Seal - said the Royal Household had confirmed only "working members of the Royal Family will be called on to act as Counsellors of State".
