'My girlfriend stars in X-rated movies - strangers high-five me in the street'

A man whose girlfriend is a "popular porn star" has opened up about how her job impacts their relationship. The 22-year-old bookkeeper from Los Angeles, who describes himself as a "pretty normal guy", says his girlfriend has starred in around 130 adult films.

He shared on Reddit: "We met through a mutual friend at a party and hit it off immediately. I knew she was a porn star when I met her and it was a little weird at first but I'm pretty cool with it now." He invited social media users to ask him questions about their unique relationship.

One curious user asked: "Does it bother you that she has sex with other men and you don't get to have sex with other women? Or do you?" To which he replied: "Initially I kind of was, but now I'm not bothered at all. It's hard to explain but like I've trained myself to view her movies as 'non-sexual' and pure acting." Another question was whether her parents know about her job and their reaction to it.

He revealed: "Her parents know what she does. They definitely weren't ok with it when she started but they came around when they realized how serious she takes her profession and how much she likes it. It also helped that she makes more money than her parents (and me for that matter).

My parents know I have a girlfriend, but have no idea she does porn. That's gonna be an interesting conversation when she finally meets them." When asked if anyone has recognised her in public, he said: "Happens more than you'd think. I just smile and flash the 'she's with me look'. When they see that I'm with her some get mad, but most give me a high five. She's a strong girl though. She's good at shutting down random guys."
