There is no such thing as a bad dog, only bad owners, and one of the biggest gripes that people have with pooches and their humans is when they don’t clean up the mess they leave. It’s disgusting, unsanitary, and against the law.

One woman who tried to ‘poop shame’ her entitled neighbour into cleaning up has revealed how her measures ended up backfiring and inadvertently creating a ‘war’ between the houses.

Taking to social media to share her issues, she wrote: “We have a neighbour on our street that has been throwing their bagged dog poop into the bushes and trees in our side yard. This has been going on for over a year and we have easily cleaned out 100 bags of dog poop.

“We had suspected one particular neighbour but did not have confirmation until we put up cameras and caught her doing it multiple times. We debated for a while on what the best course of action was and ultimately decided to box up the dog poop and put it on her porch with a note and a QR code leading to a video of her doing the deed.

“We dropped it on her porch last night and this morning it was under my tire with a note that said ‘get your s**t straight’. No clue what they are referring to. We are certain that we have the correct person and even showed their next-door neighbor the video and they confirmed it was them and also told us someone had been putting bagged dog poop in their truck bed (same colored bags).”

Furious but unsure how to proceed, the woman and her husband decided to confront the ‘poop pitcher’ neighbours while they were out walking their dog. However, the neighbour denied it was them.

“When we said that we had video she then said that she thought it was public property and the bags were biodegradable so she thought it was ok to throw in a bush,” the woman revealed. “My husband said it was our property and that there had been hundreds of bags over the last year. They then flipped it and said that we were ridiculous for putting the s**t in a box with a QR code instead of knocking on their door and having a conversation asking them to stop.

“They said if we had done that they would have apologized and helped clean up (yeah right). Anyways they argued back and forth and my husband kept saying that they are littering on our property and they just brought up that we went to a ridiculous length putting the s**t in a box on their porch.”

The woman admitted that while she and her husband had simply wanted to shame the neightbours into cleaning up their act, it resulted in a full-scale row and threats to call the police if it happened again.

Sharing her rant on Reddit, the woman was quickly inundated with ideas from people on how to get revenge on the entitled neighbours. One person wrote: “See if your other neighbors are willing to complain to the cops with you, even better if they have proof. Also might be a safety concern so the health department may be able to do something if the cops aren’t willing to.”

Someone else added: “Toss it back onto their roof. Or, rub it all over their front door.”
