Hollyoaks viewers think they know exactly who newcomer Abe Fielding is and which characters he's secretly related to.

A clue in his name may have given away a major twist, according to fans who are convinced they've cracked his true identity. It was announced on Monday that Abe, played by actor Tyler Conti, would join the E4 and Channel 4 soap.

It was teased he would be involved with the McQueens and would feature in an emotional new storyline with Cleo. Cleo made her own comeback in Tuesday's big episode of the show, which dropped online on Monday night, and she will be staying for good after leaving in 2022.

But amid a new storyline for the character and newcomer Abe, fans think they have solved a major twist and Abe's true identity. Abe shares a surname with another character on the show who happens to be returning.

Putting two and two together, fans questioned whether newcomer Abe and was linked to this returning character, and related to another villager who is on the show. Perhaps it's all a red herring though, maybe Abe is faking his name.

But it has been teased by the show that he could be linked to other characters after all. With there being more than meets the eye, Abe is apparently not keen on love interest Cleo returning as she hopes to reunite with her ex Joel Dexter.

More details will be revealed with secrets coming to light, but it has been confirmed that he has an unexpected family connection in the village. Given Joel's mother is returning to the show and her name is, or at least was previously, Marie Fielding, does this mean Abe is related to her and Joel?

Viewers certainly think so, with one writing: "OH MY GOD GUYS HER LAST NAME IS FIELDING THATS ABE’S LAST NAME AKA CLEO’S NEW BOYFRIEND." Another posted, ahead of Rita Simons joining the show as Marie: "Lord this means Abe and Joel are siblings… Cleo knows how to pick them."

A third fan theorised: "are abe and joel siblings too? lord," as another wrote: "My thoughts exactly! Both Joel's mum and Abe share the same surname. It's gotta be hasn't it." Hollyoaks is yet to confirm the twist.
