A woman is considering dumping her boyfriend after receiving an envelope which had a small detail that rubbed her up the wrong way.
The couple, who have been together for "years", received an envelope with their names handwritten on it - but they had spelled her name completely incorrectly - leaving her fuming. Sharing a picture of the envelope on a popular Facebook page, the young woman wrote: "That's not my name, not even close."
In the picture shoed a white envelope with her boyfriend's name on, followed by "+ Maria" - but her name is actually Mareena. According to the woman, they had been spelling her name correctly for years - and one day stopped bothering.

Shoot even before we had been together for a year they had gotten me gifts that I still have the cards for, showing they know how to spell my name. Am I being dramatic or is it okay if I flip out," as shared by the Daily Mail.
Mareena is considering leaving the relationship, but also said she felt like she could be overreacting because she doesn't like her boyfriend's family. However, plenty of people were on her side - agreeing that they were probably being rude on purpose.

One person wrote: "I would be annoyed too - getting someone's name right is the bare minimum of respect - especially if you know they know it," while another added: "This is absolutely intentional. Address them as bastardised versions of their names. Just be low key sassy in retaliation."
Others started sharing their own stories, with many having experienced similar situations. One person wrote: "I have been with my husband for 10 years and my mother-in-law still spells my name wrong. We correct her but she says it is a nickname. She even argued me once over the spelling. At our first baby shower, seven years ago, she spelled my name wrong on the cake - even after I wrote it down for her."
Another commented: "When we had our daughter one of the family members wrote my husband's ex girlfriend's name - they hadn't been together for years."
Mareena ultimately decided that instead of leaving her boyfriend she would from now on spell her in-laws names wrong too.
