You don't have to live off salad and green juices to lose weight.

Incorporating healthier alternatives of foods you know and love is the best way to stay on track with your diet. Dr Michael Mosley's pear and raspberry crumble recipe is the perfect example, at just 193 calories per serving.

The TV doctor shot to fame due to the popularity of his online diet plan, Fast 800. Participants wanting to shed weight on the diet don't have to follow a rigid meal plan, but should stick to the principles of a low-carb Mediterranean diet.

Those on the diet are also required to fast for 12 hours during each 24-hour period, and should restrict their calories to 800 a day for a minimum of two weeks - but for no longer than 12 weeks. The aim is to get participants into the stage of ketosis, which requires involving sugar and carbs that raise your blood sugar fast.

"To achieve ketosis, you have to stop feeding your body sugar or carbs that easily raise your blood sugar," Dr Michael Mosley said. "So for the first phase of the diet, carb-rich bread, cereals, cakes, biscuits, pasta and potatoes are off the table and out of the house. Even a biscuit or a small chocolate bar could be enough to tip your body out of ketosis."

Et voila! A healthy dessert that takes less than 15 minutes to make. If you're not a huge fan of raspberries, you could always try substituting the fruit for another type of berry.
