Bobb shares Guardiola's four-word message before last-gasp Man City winner

Manchester City star Oscar Bobb explained manager Pep Guardiola simply told him to "go out and score" before his last-gasp winner at Newcastle.

Norwegian youngster Bobb came off the bench to score his first ever Premier League goal, helping City come back from 2-1 down to win 3-2. He was helped by another substitute, Kevin De Bruyne, who equalised on his first Premier League outing since August before laying on the winner.

Pep Guardiola's title contenders found themselves 2-1 down when De Bruyne entered the field around the hour mark, with Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon scoring after Bernardo Silva's opener. De Bruyne calmly equalised, though, before a pinpoint pass allowed Bobb to have the last word.

"It's an amazing feeling," Bobb told TNT Sports after the final whistle. "Just watching from the bench, it was a high-tempo match, and then when I got the shout that I was coming on the manager told me 'go out and score' and thankfully I could.

"It's a lifelong dream [to score in the Premier League] and to do it with the best team in the world, I can't explain it. We could hear [the fans] all game, they helped us a lot today and we just have to say thank you and this win was for them."

Bobb also praised team-mate De Bruyne for the pass which allowed him to score his dramatic winner. It was the Belgian's second game back from injury, and his first league outing since he was injured away at Burnley on the opening weekend of the season.

"I said thank you to him after," Bobb admitted. "He's the only one in the world that can do that, so to get to play with him is great.

"Not only one of the greatest players in the Premier League, he's also a very nice guy. Helps the young lads a lot, so just having him back... he's one of our captains, so I think he definitely helps strengthen the team."

City's victory was enough to lift them up to second place in the Premier League table, just two points adrift of league leaders Liverpool with the same number of games played. They're next in action on January 26, taking on Tottenham in the FA Cup, while their next league game comes at home to Burnley at the end of the month.
