Drying clothes in the winter is an arduous task - but one woman has shared an overlooked hack which could help you get your clothes ready to wear in no tie.
The majority of Brits likely long for those hot summer days when they are stood hanging their wet washing onto an air dryer. Not just because the days are brighter and longer but because washing air dries so quickly compared to now. If you are looking for ways to speed up your drying time then you could consider the advice from one cleaning expert.
Nicola Lewis is a self-proclaimed expert at "decluttering, organising and packing" and often takes her to Instagram page @thisgirlcanorganise to share hints and tips with her nearly 200k followers.
One tip Nicola shared in an Instagram reel recently was a "secret" button on your washing machine which can help your clothes dry even quicker whilst inside. The reel was titled "How to dry your clothes indoors", and it opened with a clip of Nicola turning her washing machine setting onto "Drum/Spin" with the overlaying text reading "Double Spin for the Win."
What this means is, after her washing cycle has completed, Nicola keeps her clothes in the machine and puts on a spin cycle. This cycle doesn't add any water into the drum and simply spins your clothes again which helps extract more moisture out of them. The caption of the reel read: "Double spin your laundry! Your clothes will come out much drier allowing them to dry quicker. Always give your clothes a quick shake before hanging to dry to remove any creases."

The rest of the reel explained the next steps to drying your clothes inside with Nicola telling her audience to "grab your airer" and set up a dehumidifier. Her caption explained: "A dehumidifier will draw moisture from the air and dry your clothes quicker. If you don't have a dehumidifier open a window and place the airer near natural light."
Nicola also advised her audience to use a fan to "circulate cold air helping your clothes to dry faster and prevent mould" adding that any desktop fan could be used and that it was "cheaper than putting the heating on".
Nicola told viewers that clothes needed to be spaced out on the Airer and that it was also useful to put clothes on a hanger before hanging them on the Airer as it helps "speed up the drying process". Alongside this, you should also try and rotate the clothing a few times too.
Followers of Nicola praised her for the advice with one person writing: "We've just invested in a dehumidifier and it's bloody amazing." and another commenting: "No more condensation on the windows and that battle with mould feels like a distant memory!"
A third shared that they were "surprised" at how well Nicola's tips had worked and how quickly their loaded air dryer was dry. Antoher added: "Very pleased but don't forget to double spin!"
