Reason Harry & Meghan announced pregnancy at Princess Eugenie's wedding unveiled

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their first pregnancy at Princess Eugenie's wedding, with the reason behind this controversial move revealed in the Duke of Sussex's book a year ago.

Last year, Prince Harry released his tell-all memoir Spare. And in the year that has followed, the world has reacted to the shocking tome and the eye-opening revelations from within the cover.

Putting the record straight about a series of claims from the media in recent years, Harry addressed the announcement of his and Meghan's first pregnancy, after it had been long been reported that the couple had told family and friends they were expecting their first child at the wedding of Harry's cousin, Princess Eugenie, on October 12, 2018.

Writing about this in his book, he penned: "Euge was getting married, to Jack, and we were deliriously happy for them and for ourselves, selfishly, since Jack was one of our favourite people.

"Meg and I were supposed to head off on our first official foreign tour as a married couple, but we delayed the departure several days, so we could be at the wedding.

"Also, the various gatherings connected to the wedding would give us a chance to pull aside family members one by one and tell them our good news," he revealed.

Harry then added how he told his father, King Charles, the joyous news "at Windsor, just before a drinks reception for the bride and groom". With the then-Prince "delighted to learn that he was going to be a grandfather for a fourth time".

Within the confines of the hotly-anticipated book, the father-of-two wrote candidly about his life as a Prince and what it was like growing up in the British Royal Family, with him lifting the lid on some shocking revelations.

Harry also touched on much of his life since departing the UK and stepping down as a senior royal, with him writing about his home life with his wife Meghan, whom he married in 2018 during a televised wedding ceremony in Windsor. They now have two children together, 4, and Lilibet, 2.
